Alan Horowitz

Alan Horowitz is Aramark’s Vice President of Sustainability where he is responsible for leading delivery of the company’s planet-focused commitments and targets, as established in its Be Well. Do Well. sustainability plan. Alan’s team is particularly focused on Aramark’s enterprise-wide efforts to avoid food waste, minimize single use plastics, and deliver ambitious carbon reduction goals, including near and long-term science-based targets. Alan is also responsible for leading the company’s ESG governance, stakeholder engagement, and reporting programs. Prior to joining Aramark in February 2022, Alan spent 20 years at AstraZeneca, initially as the company’s in-house environmental counsel and later as it’s VP of Global Sustainability, where he integrated the company’s Global Safety, Health, Environment and Operations Compliance functions into an industry leading ESG program. Alan also built an ESG function for Microsoft’s cloud operations business before co-founding Green Street USA, a start-up focused on helping Main Street enterprises embrace and embed sustainability. Alan began his career practicing environmental law in Washington, DC and is a former member of the Board of the Environmental Law Institute. (Philadelphia, PA)
