Senior Director of Research and Development at Bloomin’ Brands

Christian Hallowell is an accomplished culinary executive with more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. In his role as Sr. Dir of R&D at Bloomin’ Brands, he is responsible for elevating the brand for Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Aussie Grill and Outback Intl. His key responsibilities includes leading his team in menu development, planning, and strategic innovation. Prior to joining Bloomin’, he served as Corporate Chef of in-flight meals for Delta Air Lines. In this role, he supported Delta’s global culinary operation through a collaborative partnership with catering partners. Previously, Christian also worked in research and development with Compass Group’s health care division, Morrison, Lufthansa Service Group, The Ritz-Carlton, and Occidental Hotels, as well as many fine dining establishments around the country. Christian completed his culinary education at Baltimore International Culinary College, studied business at Reinhardt College and hospitality administration at Cornell University. He volunteers his time with various outreach programs such as Habitat for Humanity, and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry. (Tampa, FL)
