Lindsey Lusher Shute is co-founder and CEO of the Farm Generations Cooperative and co-owner of Hearty Roots Community Farm. Farm Generations is the creator of GrownBy, a fair and transparent marketplace for local food. GrownBy is the first and only cooperatively-owned platform for farm food sales with the goal of strengthening our small farm community, simplifying direct sales, and making it easier for more consumers to choose local. GrownBy is currently partnering with CIA to ease farm-to-chef and institutional sales. Before Farm Generations, Lindsey co-founded the National Young Farmers Coalition and served as executive director for ten years. Lindsey’s farm, Hearty Roots Community Farm, offers Real Organic Project/USDA organic produce to 1,000 CSA members in the Hudson Valley and New York City.  Lindsey was recognized as a “Champion of Change” by President Barack Obama. She was a recipient of the Glynwood’s “Harvest Award” and was named an “American Food Hero” by Eating Well Magazine. (Germantown, NY)
