Senior Associate Director of International Engagement, Good Food Institute

Stephanie Von Stein is the senior associate director of international engagement at The Good Food Institute (GFI). In this role, she oversees and provides strategic support for GFI's international affiliate organizations across the globe as they work to advance the alternative proteins industry as a key solution for the climate crisis, antimicrobial resistance, and food insecurity. Her portfolio includes leading GFI's work with multilateral agencies and development finance institutions to connect those agencies with promising alternative protein value chain investments that align with their program priorities. She also leads GFI’s strategy for engagement at the annual COP climate negotiations. Prior to GFI, Stephanie focused on building environmental civil society organizations in Asia. She is a multi-year grantee of the National Endowment for Democracy for her work creating a network of environmental advocacy groups across China. She has a broad-based knowledge of China’s Environmental Protection Law and current environmental policy directives, and has collaborated with grassroots development and environmental advocacy groups throughout East and South Asia.
